May 12 - Face Coverings Opt-Out
-
This morning South Carolina State Superintendent Molly Spearman rescinded the Department of Education’s face covering policy for school campuses.
Per the governor’s order, Lexington Four parents who prefer to have their child[ren] not wear a mask inside the school building must submit the DHEC form linked below to the school office.
IMPORTANT - The face mask policy remains in effect for all individuals while on a state school bus due to Presidential Executive Order No. 13998.
DHEC continues to recommend the use of face coverings at school, and we encourage students to continue wearing masks while inside our buildings. Likewise, all other Lexington Four safety protocols will remain in place including maximizing social distancing, limiting transitions during the school day, and disinfection of commonly touched surfaces.
Staff will continue to wear face coverings inside school while in the presence of students.
